An odd sort of repression runs through our society
A repression that is based on tiny fears that have added up to paralysis
Both socially, culturally and individually
We are told that our society is free
We may even feel it
But that is all a falsehood
Something is wrong and everyone knows it
Whether or not they know it, everyone can feel it
It's palpable in the air
As we ride in trains and buses
Please look
We are told that true freedom equates
To laissez faire economic policies and "free trade"
Though it's only a trick
True freedom is in fact a matter of an individual's contentment,
happiness and security in one self.
And when society makes it so that is not the case for many
Very few are free
